Is AI already returning power to the Writer/Director? When I was in college, my professors had a good laugh at the idea of the Auteur. How quaint? How innocent to believe that a gifted individual with a dream could take on the studios, the financiers, the committees? And yet, back from the dead...
This year our usual selection of both AI and Meat Puppet generated films await your detached Brechtian analysis, but don't be startled if your eyes and ears are deceived, your cognition offloaded, your feeble brain devoured...You can judge for yourself whether or not your story arc is nearing its fatal conclusion... They are not alive, yet they are not dead, either.
